Studded Booties, Coats And More Things That Don't Need to Be Studded But I Can't Stop Being Drawn To Like A Magpie

WAHHHH. This girl's so POUTY. WAHSSSSSAMATTARRRR? Don't you like her BLAZER? I do. Duh. BECAUSE IT'S GOT STUDS ON IT.

($158, Priorities, Winknyc.com)
I like how this blazer's by "Priorities," as in, none of mine are straight.

($145, ASOS)
I am committing so many sins just by staring at this black studded swing trench. Ugh.

BEE TEE DUBS! I CAN'T BELIEVE I forgot to tell you that I got a camel-colored studded trench coat from Topshop. It looks like this but it's CAMEL, got it? It was originally $400 something, which is outlandish, but I got it on sale for $200. Still kind of pricey considering it isn't made marvelously, but I'll be wearing on the daily. Huzzah for fall!

($310, Topshop)
OHHHh studded black booties with cone heel! You were MADE in my image, were you not? I CAN'T though. I CAN'T. Super pointy cone heels are NEVER comfy. And $300 is reeedamndick. Hi. Welcome to the dialogue of my internal conflict.

New Tournaire Engagement Rings

Check out these brand-new super-architectural (obviously), thoroughly modern-paradoxically-ancient-accented engagement rings by Phillipe Tournaire. They're inspired by the first-ever engagement rings from the Merovingian dynasty, which sounds cool because no one cut their hair.

And instead of a bloody bloody blood diamond, you get the loaded-with symbolic structural imagery of a united couple's new home and family. They're 18K gold, and if you simply MUST have a diamond, you can do that too. They start at $1,100, which isn't so bad for a really cool alt- engagement ring, you know? Jews, you should dig it too because they've got a very Jerusalem/ Havdallah spice box vibe too. And if you just like trends (guilty), the second ring is basically a glorified pyramid stud. Win!

This Alexander Wang Stud Print Dress Is Making Me Sad

($968.78, Alexander Wang, Brownsfashion)
... Sad because we'll never be together, and because the print reminds of me SO many things I hold so dearly to my heart -- studs, crossword puzzles, and online Tetris knock-off games, such as Bejeweled. Ugh. We were so meant to be together, this Alexander Wang dress and me.

Great. Now I have that Jewel song stuck in my head.

Topshop Fall/ Winter 2009 Preview, Y'all!

In which I editorially select some of my FAVORITE pieces from Topshop's forthcoming Fall/ Winter '09er stuff. Did I hear a niner? Lots of chunky knits, studs, fake furs, feathers, and '90s grunge inspiration topped off with some '70s boho-meets-coke den attributes. Mix, but never match, okay? Look for the pieces to hit Topshop stores and Topshop.com starting nowish.

From the Horror Girls collection.

Will I EVER get over the raging perma-bone I have for pyramid studs?

Because I LOVE a sequin jacket, peeps!

Besides finding like $50 in your pocket, what's better than a banded sweater with a nice scoopneck, hm?

Both sweaters are from Markus Lupfer collection, and they're $170.

... Seriously, I will HAVE MY WAY with that leather bag and those black studded heels. Both are absolutely the last night I need right now (weddings don't pay for themselves, as it turns out!), but I can't stop OCDing about them in my widdle brain.

Okay, now for the Topshop Fall/ Winter '09 stuff that I am NOT feeling:

NO. Muppets died for these sins. I cannot handle THAT much '90s.

Please, no. Don't EVER EVER EVER wear a feather headdress unless you are an actual factual Native American engaging in some sort of purpose-driven ceremony.

Lust Life: Loeffler Randall Studded Wedges

($200, Loeffler Randall, Footcandyshoes.com)
Sigh. It's probably for the best that these baby blue Loeffer Randall studded wedges are sold out in my all-too-common size.

That said, I'm still gonna go ahead and dedicate "Catch Me I'm Falling" -- one of my FAVORITE Freestyle R&B songs -- to them:

Beacon's Closet Scores: Leather Motorcycle Jacket & Redonk Heels

Dropped some stuff off at the Park Slope Beacon's Closet today and exchanged some old stuff for some new-old stuff, including... these ridiculous...LY AWESOME brown leather studded heels from Italian brand B&H or Bag-Het or something. They're studded but not in a super on-trend way, which I kinda like. They were $15.95 and in perfect condition.

And, for some bizarre reason, this PERFECTLY fantastic old-school black leather motorcycle jacket from Bona Drag (seriously!) was just sitting there! Waiting for me! For just $29!

It's currently available at Bona Drag for $95. For real.

Chanel? No. Obey? Yes!

I love this black quilted laptop bag inspired by Chanel's classic black quilted bag:

($96, Obey, Karmaloop)
Sure, it's Obey and not Chanel, but it's also not like $2,000. AND, it's got a tiny row of pyramid studs! SCORE! You can get it at Karmaloop, where promo codes are a dime a dozen! And I like dimes, and I like dozens.

+ Try any of these Karmaloop promo codes:
MO9333 = 20% off
MS29093 = 20% off

Hayden-Harnett Fall Winter 2009. Plus: HH Footwear Will Be Death Of Me

I stopped by the Hayden-Harnett Fall-Winter 2009 presentation at the Chelsea Hotel last night. To complement the hotel's creepy-cool vibe (at times though, the hotel felt more creepy than cool -- like 1970s kindergarten up and left for no apparent reason -- and I got hit on by some yukky dude with a dog in the lobby), the models -- arranged in tableau vivant and styled like ruffian vagabond outcasts from Sally Bowles' apartment or some other Weimar Republic-era setting mashed up with nostaglic relics from That '70s Uncle's basement -- took away a little from the clothing. (There was even one girl on the john.) Not that I wouldn't be at home in any of the dramatic shifts, geometric silky prints and deep, rich suedes, but mainly I really really, of course, loved the bags, shoes, and necklace, like the one in this shot below:

(Photo via WWD)

And the SHOES! Oh the shoes...
($240, Hayden-Harnett)
They're spring, but who cares? They're amazing.

($258, Hayden-Harnett)
Um, studs. Hi.

Of COURSE my camera died the instant I walked under the doorframe. Fail. But, Rachel from Things I Like Right Now was there and took great snaps, including one of the girl on the can. Hee!

Rebecca Minkoff Fall 2009 Apparel & Handbag Preview!

Just got back from preview of Rebecca Minkoff's Fall 2009 apparel relaunch. Lots of black skinny jeans, porkpie hats, bright red-orange lips, and old-school Wayfarers reminiscent of 1960s Dylan. It all had a bit of a Cali vibe but more Silverlake than Venice Beach, you know? Definitely a cool, subtle femmey takes on menswear with a little '80s mixed in. Check out some of the pix I took (but do forgive my horrendo photog skills which I wouldn't call skills actually) -- my favorite is the asymmetrical leather zipper skirt, which I'd wear in a hot second.
Oh yeah, don't forget to check out the Rebecca Minkoff trunk show at Bendels.

(Some dudeface's arm got in the way. Sorry!)

PS: Check out the INCREYIBLAY Neon Morning After Bag I'm borrowing for Fashion Week:
Want it? (Me too!) It's $635 at Lunaboston.com.

Rebecca Minkoff Spring Handbag Event At Henri Bendel!

The Binge has long been a fan of Rebecca Minkoff you know? You do know!

And remember how I got all pouty because the Rebecca Minkoff sample sale was held in L.A. and not here? Well YAY for the East Coast because there's an event coming up soon HERE!

If you're up in the vicins of Henri Bendel, get a sneeky peeky of her Spring collection between Tuesday, February 17 and Monday, March 2. And, you can meet Rebecca Minkoff (and thank her for making bags I covet so intensely, like the Market Bag, and the selects below) February 19 & 20 from 4-8pm and February 21 from 1-6pm.

($330, Rebecca Minkoff, Shopbop.com)

($195, Rebecca Minkoff)

The Neon Morning After Bag in Dove Grey/ Neon Yellow is possibly my fave.

FashionBinge Lust/ Must: Studded Mocs

($266, Bess, Oak)
Normally I'd be all over these pyramid-studded suede mocs, but a.) they're outta my price rangeage, b.) they're for guys, c.) they're from Bess, which is the kinda Soho store you walk into and you're like only Cokey stylists shop here. And then you leave really quickly.

+ More pix at WilliamYan

DONCHA FARGET: Hayden-Harnett For TARGET Is On Sale NOW!

NOW NOW NOW! Get your Hayden-Harnett for Target bags NOW!

It looks like many of them won't ship for another several weeks, so consider this a test of patience.

I haven't seen them in person, so I can't speak to the quality (they're made of PVC, so you can probably bank on them cracking), but I'm pleased they didn't skimp on the design details -- the fun studs and hardware and excellent fabric lining.

My faves:

($39, Hayden-Harnett, Target)

($19.99, Hayden-Harnett, Target)
Peek inside for a peep at the great fabric lining!

($44.99, Hayden-Harnett, Target)
Cheyyyyyck out the fun pyramid studs on the bottom of this chain bag. Yay!
