Daily reader of the blog Ashcan Rantings? Yes? Then you know it's a blog which is very rare to find. A true gold mine in this blogosphere. If no? Then you have been missing out on a lot of incredible posts by the lovely, witty and brilliant Molly, creator behind the oh-so fantastic Ashcan Rantings. I decided to speak to Molly myself to find out a bit more of who her fashion crushes are, who she would run away with and which famous person she would spend the night with.

Which celebrities influence you the most when it comes to fashion?

I like to read Cory Kennedy's blog before I get dressed, and I also hold up clothes and try to imagine if Alexa Chung or Pattie Boyd would wear them, and if so, how?

Which trend will you never get sick of?

I'll always love 60's-influenced style. It's easily my favourite decade, and it's fashion icons, like Edie Sedgwick, Pattie Boyd and Marianne Faithfull, have style that is immortal.

If you were a designer, who would be your fabulous muse?

I think my muse would be Alexa Chung. I think she's a beautiful girl, but quirky-beautiful and her personality is fantastic. She also has great style.

What is your favourite accessory?

I love those rings that you get from the dentist, the kind that are just a plastic stone in a solid colour. I think they're very pretty and I don't have to be too worried about losing them. I can just get more at my next appointment !

If you could spend the day with a famous person, alive or dead, who would it be?

Oooh, this type of question tortures me to no end. I'd love to spend the day with Pattie Boyd. She's had such an incredible life, and seems so down-to-earth, kind and all-around messy.

If you could spend the night with a famous person, who would it be?

Are you kidding? I live for this type of question ! It's a hard one though. Right now, I'd say Mick Jagger (maybe a circa 1969 Mick?) or Alex Turner.

If you were to run away and become someone's groupie, who would be the lucky person/band?

The Arctic Monkeys, for sure !

What book is your favourite?

My favourite book is "The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test" by Tom Wolfe. I haven't even finished reading it! I like reading certain chapters over and over and just savouring the writing and the people in it.

Do you have a favourite song?

Can I say two? The first would be "Joy in Repetition" by Prince and the second would be "Your Mind and We Belong Together" by Love. Both of these songs have a lot of meaning to me, and could never be "background music". When I listen to them, I focus on them entirely.

If you could raid someone's closet, who's would it be?

Probably Alexa Chung. Mary-Kate Olsen is my favourite style icon, but I don't think I could pull off her clothes. Alexa is incredibly stylish, in a more realistic way.

Mary-Kate Olsen !

Do you own a favourite perfume?

Mary-Kate and Ashley's NYC...bought a bottle for $5! But the Olsen name proves that you're getting quality.

In the movie of your life, who would you like to play "you"?

Ooooooh...Alexa Chung, pleasethankyou!

What's your New Year's resolution/s?

I don't believe in New Year's resolutions, but I'm going to try to enjoy life as much as possible and stay happy !
